NYPL playoff matchups set

The first round of the New York-Penn League playoffs will begin Tuesday with the Tri-City Valleycats hosting the Batavia Muckdogs and the Jamestown Jammers hosting the Brooklyn Cyclones.

Tri-City’s pitching staff finished third in the league with a 3.43 ERA, but it will have its hands full trying to slow down a Batavia offense that scored a league-leading 410 runs in the regular season.

Jamestown is tasked with trying to knock off a Brooklyn team that has the look of a juggernaut.  The Cyclones finished the regular season with a 51-24 record, led the league in ERA and home runs and has two New York-Penn League MVP candidates in Cory Vaughn and Darrell Ceciliani.
