Tigers narrowly miss playoffs

Needing a win and a Tri-City loss to clinch a playoff spot on the season’s final day, the Connecticut Tigers came up short against the Aberdeen IronBirds in a game that lasted 13 innings.

The loss ended Connecticut’s inaugural season in gut-wrenching fashion, as the Tigers took a seemingly safe 7-5 lead in the top of the 13th inning only to see Aberdeen score three runs in the bottom of the frame.

Connecticut finished the season in second place in the New York-Penn League’s Stedler Division with 38 wins and 37 losses.
