Tigers sign 3 more draft picks

The Detroit Tigers announced Wednesday that they have signed three more of their 2010 draft picks in left-handed pitcher Alex Burgos, catcher Bryan Holaday and second baseman Corey Jones.

Burgos, a left-handed pitcher with good command and pitchability, could be assigned to either Connecticut or West Michigan.

Holaday won the Johnny Bench award as the best catcher in college baseball as a senior at TCU.  Like Burgos, he could be sent to either Connecticut or West Michigan.

Jones will begin his career on the disabled list as he nurses his separated shoulder back to health.  Jones suffered the injury diving into second base on June 12 during NCAA Super Regionals.  He profiles as an offensive-minded second baseman.
