Tigers snap losing streak with emphatic 13-1 victory

The Connecticut Tigers snapped a three-game losing streak with Thursday’s 13-1 win against the Lowell Spinners.  Five Lowell errors helped the Tigers increase their margin of victory in a very lopsided game.

Julio Rodriguez, Ryan Enos and Chao-Ting Tang were among the Tigers offensive standouts as each contributed multiple hits to the offensive effort.  Alexander Nunez hit the game’s only home run, his first of the season.

Tigers starting pitcher Luis Sanz allowed only one run in five innings of work, while recording five strikeouts.  Patrick Lawson and Tyler Clark did excellent work in relief, combining to pitch four scoreless innings.

Outfielder P.J. Polk missed his fourth straight game because of a hamstring injury.

The Tigers finish their series with the Spinners on Friday at 7:05 p.m.  Rayni Guichardo (1-0, 1.29) is expected to get the start for the Tigers.  He will be opposed by Tyler Wilson (0-1, 0.00).
